After grad­u­at­ing with a degree in jour­nal­ism, I have now worked as a Van­cou­ver tech­ni­cal writer for more than 20 years. I have ample expe­ri­ence cre­at­ing and main­tain­ing help sys­tems, user guides, release notes, quick ref­er­ence cards, con­tent for sup­port web sites, and instruc­tion­al design and mar­ket­ing con­tent for large com­pa­nies includ­ing Kodak, Boe­ing, Teck Resources, and For­tis­BC. I’ve earned sev­er­al awards along the way includ­ing an Inter­na­tion­al Award of Excellence.

I have served in lead­er­ship posi­tions for the Soci­ety for Tech­ni­cal Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and have worked as a writ­ing instruc­tor at Simon Fras­er Uni­ver­si­ty in Van­cou­ver. I also reg­u­lar­ly present topics—such as prepar­ing con­tent for smart­phones and tablets—at tech­ni­cal writ­ing conferences.
